Wednesday is the fixed point of the week — Dirty Duck first, Copper Rooms later, home at a time nobody admits to. There is always a soft-drinks table, nobody keeps a register, and the tour is the best five days of the year.

Three courses, club awards, and speeches that go on slightly too long. Formal dress, informal behaviour.

Five days, two clubs, one very long coach to Stansted
Tour runs in the Easter break: two friendly fixtures against local clubs, one social every night, and an afternoon that is officially free but always ends up on a court somewhere. Open to every member regardless of standard — roughly a third of last year’s tour party had joined that October.
£185 all in: flights, five nights, both fixtures, tour kit. Deposit of £50 due 14 November.
Twelve hours, one ball still in play
The racket-athon is our big one: continuous play on court 8 from 8am to 8pm, members rotating in pairs, sponsorship by the hour. Three years running, over £6,000 raised for Mind.
Alongside it we run a charity doubles night in term two and put a team into the SU sports charity week.
