A club that keepshanding on the racket.

Warwick Squash has been running since 1965, and the pattern has barely changed: someone teaches you, you get decent enough to teach someone else, and one year later you are the person holding the clipboard at a taster session.

We run six BUCS teams and a beginners programme with equal seriousness. The mission is simple — keep squash cheap, keep it welcoming, and keep the Wednesday social intact.

What the club is for

Cheap to start

Forty pounds a year, free tasters, borrowed rackets. Cost should never be the reason someone does not play.

Competitive where it counts

Six BUCS teams with real training and real selection — and no expectation that everyone wants that.

A club, not a team sheet

Socials, tour, charity nights and box leagues. Most members never play a league fixture and are no less part of it.

History & achievements

Sixty-one seasons, abridged

1965Founded on two courtsStarted by a group of postgraduates with two courts, one ball and a booking sheet on a noticeboard.
1988First BUCS promotionMen’s 1s went up to the Midlands premier division and stayed there for six seasons.
2004Women’s teams establishedTwo women’s teams entered the league for the first time; both are still running today.
2016Beginners programme launchedFree weekly tasters and coached beginner sessions — membership grew by half within two years.
2023Charity racket-athon beginsTwelve hours of continuous play on one court. Three years in, over £6,000 raised for Mind.
2026Six teams, 140 membersOur largest season on record, with the men’s 1s second in Midlands 1A at the halfway point.
